Costume of 2014, 9th grade, Kerttu 9E

I can't believe this! For the first time in my life, I've won an award for having the best costume! (This is actually kind of sad since I'm literally obsessed with costumes)

So how did this happen?
Our school has a tradition that every year on April 30th students and teachers can wear costumes at school. Of course, since it's a secondary school most students don't bother with making a costume.
We also have some special program every year. For example, this year the whole school gathered at the gym and we had music and dance performances. Awards (such as "Smile of 2014") were given to students and teachers. And I won the award "Costume of 2014"! I wore my Red Queen costume, which I finished at 2 o'klock on Wednesday morning. Wearing it to school was absolutely amazing! When I walked around the corridors, people stared at my costume, and a few of them even asked where I had bought it. That was totally worth the four months I spent making it!

The last couple of weeks have indeed been quite busy. I turned 16, had about 5-7 exams (I lost count of them at some point), had to return some projects and had dance rehearsals almost every day.

My 16th birhday was great! I got a pocket watch from my granparents! I use it as a necklace. When I told my friends about it, they couldn't understand why I was so excited. Now I think it's becase I used a bit out of date finnish word "taskunauris", which would directly translate into "pocket turnip". They just kept asking me what on earth it was and if I was planning to eat it!

Now I only have one exam left, and it's chemistry, so it's quite easy for me. I'm more concerned about my high school entrance exams. Usually we don't have them in Finland, but I've applyed to a high school that spezialices on drama education. I've never been this nervous about anything in my life! I just hope everything goes well. Anyway, I can always go to an ordinary high school.

I almost forgot to tell you, I'm going on field trip to Sweden this month! It's going to be so great, we'll spend most of our time there in Gotland, but we'll also have shopping day in Stockholm. Just ten days before we set off...
